With equal parts wild humor and grit, Saudade incorporates theatre and dance to intermingle stories of the history of African-Americans in the southern United States, contemporary and traditional Portuguese Fado music and the exquisite dynamics of an international cast of dancers. Saudade is a Portuguese word that conjures the complex mixture of sadness, pain, nostalgia, happiness and love that is at the core of Fado.
